 JORGE
DE AMESTI es un fotógrafo que se identifica
con la paz y belleza espiritual que irradian paisajes
naturales e intocados. Es ahí, contemplando y
sintiendo sus magníficos esplendores, donde ha
desarrollado su particular habilidad fotográfica.
Sus imágenes, mas allá de ser registros
descriptivos de determinadas fechas, sucesos o zonas
geográficas, son momentos y emociones, de cualquier
tiempo y lugar. Sus fotografías son simplemente,
reflejos del alma.
Motivado de manera instintiva
por su sentimiento y amor a la naturaleza, recorre paisajes
en su estado natural y cristalino, en lugares tan diferentes
como Australia, Chile, Suecia o Tasmania, plasmando
con sensibilidad y poesía las sutilezas de la
luz.
Bosques, montañas, ríos, desiertos y paisajes
puros, donde pueda reencontrarse consigo mismo, son
sus escenarios preferidos, sin embargo, su cámara
también pasea por otras instancias, como retratos
de personas o visiones del pasado.
Es su deseo, contribuir con sus fotografías a
lograr un punto de encuentro y espacio de cariño
en el corazón de las personas, para descubrir,
admirar y cuidar las pocas áreas silvestres que
aun nos van quedando.
Sus imágenes, son un testimonio para crear conciencia
en nuestros hijos de paisajes únicos, que escandalosamente
han ido desapareciendo, para nunca volver.
Su trayectoria incluye, entre otros, exposiciones de
fotografía en el Instituto Chileno Británico
de Cultura, Instituto Chileno Norteamericano de Cultura
e Instituto Cultural de Providencia.

Jorge de Amesti is a photographer who identifies
himself with the peace and spiritual beauty that radiates
from natural and virginal landscapes. It is there, contemplating
and sensing its extraordinary splendor, where he is
able to give expression to his unusual photographic
talent.
His images, are more than mere descriptive records taken
on a specific date, event, or geographic location, but
are moments and emotions, that defie time and place.
They are a reflection of what the soul has perceived.
Instinctively motivated by his love of nature, he travels
across landscapes that are still in their natural and
pristine state, to locations as different and varied
as Australia, Chile, Sweden or Tasmania, giving form,
with sensitivity and poetic expression, to the subtle
effects of light.
Wilderness, mountains, rivers, deserts, and undefiled
landscapes; these are amongst his favorite settings,
where it is possible to renew an encounter with oneself.
However, his camera lens also records other instances,
as portraits or visions of the past.
It is his desire, by means of these photographs, to
achieve an encounter with the tenderness that is found
in each person's heart, to permit them to discover,
admire, and appreciate the few areas of untouched wilderness
remaining.
His images, are a testimony to stir the consciousness
of our offspring to an awareness of these unique landscapes,
which, sadly, are disappearing, to never return.
His trajectory has included, amongst others, photography
exhibits in the Instituto Chileno Británico de
Cultura, Instituto Chileno Norteamericano de Cultura
and the Instituto Cultural de Providencia.
